Evaluation Part 1- Brief

For this project there was a set brief that we had to work to. The brief states that we have been hired by a record company and we have to make a music video, a digipak and a magazine advert.

To make the products we had to pick an artist with copyright free songs. I found a song and I pitched my idea but ultimately in the end we picked my partners choice of song which was: 'Changing people'- Shauntia Touissant. We did have to pay for rights to download the song and we got a confirmation email.

We found the artist on BeatPick.com, that was found on Creative Commons.










The genre of the song we chose was Soul and it had a bit of Jazz in it as well. This allowed us to think about doing something unique as the majority of songs that people have are hip-hop or R&B. This is one of the reasons that we got attracted to the song. Another reason is that it had quite a dominant beat throughout, so we knew that when it came to post-production it would make editing easier; this beat also made the song catchy so we then decided to use it.
